I made a lot of changes to my zine this week. Although I was content with my previous idea, I decided I wanted to make my zine more interesting, with more dialogue and characters. So I decided to create a comic. I wanted to explore an epidemic that most people could understand and relate to, too. So I decided to explore the theme of “Brown Girl Problems”, and come up with comical expressions of everyday issues brown girls like me could relate to. I first started creating a character design for my main character, which was difficult, although watching youtube tutorials on character designs helped. I got to create my own comic characters which was fun and educational.

After creating a character design, I went ahead and started creating my comics, something that I had never made before. I learned how to play around and experiment with the different panels and convey ideas with limited words and space to draw.
