In the eleventh week of our classes, we proceeded with our parts of a whole project. We got to comprehending the intrinsics of our respective disciplines. As we dove in and narrowed down our streams into several elements and components, I learned about certain aspects and attributes one could associate with it. I narrowed the stream of “Communication Design” down to book cover designing and proceeded to make a mind map and further break down these components.

As I dissected the field of book cover designing, I realised how multifaceted it can be. There were quite a lot of sub elements that came into play and were also interrelated with each other and overlapped each other, too. By breaking these elements down, I realised how important it is to consider each element and look at it holistically and not just individually. This clarity session made me understand how design is a fluid and intuitive approach which holds a sense of organisation within it.
