In order to visualise and implement our ideas into reality, it is crucial to make several trials and errors, first. Which is why we make prototypes in order to visualise how these elements and designs can be thrust into reality with its forms, shapes and different sizes. We decided to create our fist bump prototype today.
Materials used to create first prototype:
-Styrofoam
-File card
-Toothpicks
-Masking tape
-Threaded wool
The materials we used to create our first prototype were thoroughly pondered over. For the hand and wrist to slid through the grip of the prototype, we used styrofoam, as it is quite flimsy, yet sturdy enough to be strong enough to hold the hand and wrist. It could easily be worn as a bracelet. To create a sturdy support for the square file card, we used wooden toothpicks laced in woollen thread to show the movement, direction and flow of the wearable. We used masking tape to attach the toothpicks to the file card. And later went on to putting in our fist inside the wearable.
