This week, we began mapping out our individual aspects. Mapping them out, made it easier for us to visit these aspects again and gain a better understanding of why they are where they are. My aspect was fine arts. What I noticed, as I mapped out the area was that the south of Kala Ghoda was more inundated with fine arts and street art too. It was the hub for artists to express their creativity. One area I noticed in particular was the road beside the famous Jehangir Art Gallery which had multiple talented street artist sitting and making their artwork. I realised that not only this city, but the district itself is so intricately designed, hence a simple Google Map wouldn’t be sufficient enough for us to identify this are. I realised that these artists are what this district is made of, and that no map will be able to showcase that. I wanted to bring these artists and several other around the district in to light to gain a better understanding of what makes Kala Ghoda itself. Therefore, I also chose to map out local and street artists on both my maps.
