In the eleventh week of our sustainable systems classes, we got to revise and revisit the 17 UN goals, the four Rs, and the cradle to cradle method that we explored in the very first lesson. This helped me realise the true aim of this project, and the new assignment and shed light on what is most important about it. In order to make a change or a difference or to understand the root cause of it, it is important for us to understand the goal, intentions and the problems thoroughly, first.
We then moved on to getting introduced to our project. The topic our group was assigned was Nutrition and Food habits. We were then told to chose a target audience and age group we intend on communicating our intentions and recommendations to. After a thorough discussion, we planned on limiting the age group from 10 – 18 years of age, as this is the time when children grow the most and hence their eating habits as a result set a precedent for how they will be when they get older.
We planned on investigating this topic through a creative lens. We decided to either making zines, informative infographics or games that compare ideal food charts to current ones. This will help the kids compare their current eating habits to the right kind. As we delve deeper into understanding this, we plan on going forward and actually conducting it.
