In the sixth week of my Time class, I began collating the sound and final video clips in my video. Overall, creating this was a very educational journey, because not only was it hard to convey emotions and ideas through this video without any subtitles or voice over sounds, but also because I learned a lot about editing and imparting ideas without any voice or reference, just through videos, which I have never done before and has definitely taught me a lot about artistic expression and covert communication.
I began by changing certain screen caps and video clips what I chose initially, because I thought that they could convey the idea behind my video in a better way. The screen cap of illusions could convey frustration, whereas the screen cap of the girl wearing hypnotic glasses could impart the idea of confusion and frustration with the impending noise and traffic, too.
Above are the screen caps of the videos I replaced the previous ones with.
I also learned about the power of music, and sound. How it can change your attitude or mood instantly with its beats. I used this knowledge to impart emotions related to chaos, (rush hour traffic sound), Frustration (ominous and impending beat), and calmness (Guides to Escape by Rue Royale). I purposely used slow guitar and a mellow voice to convey calmness in the end to make the audience understand the impact of music.
I also learned the importance of crediting my sources, as we go along to create artwork and learned the significance of crediting the artist and the creator in order to make my video more credible and honest.
Here is my final video:
