In this week of Imaging, I learned a lot about a new software called “InDesign”. At first I found it quite challenging to get used to because it was different from Photoshop and Illustrator. I learned that InDesign is mainly used to create magazines, brochures, flyers and newspapers. Such works require an accurate format that I learned InDesign can provide. It alters and adjusts its column, margins and gutters to the creators liking.
At first, it was hard to get accustomed to it, because I didn’t quite understand how to align certain measurements. Although, after a couple of tries, I got accustomed to creating columns and adhering to measurements and also understood how to make margins and gutters to a certain size by clicking on the “document set up” option in the “window” and adjusting the numbers and scales. I also learned how to drag and drop images or go to file > Places and select my image, make frames for the images, and put multiple images onto one page.
Furthermore, I learned how to use the type tool to allot page numbers to each page.
