In this class, we got introduced to one of the most famous write of time, Italo Calvino. I learned about his book “Invisible Cities”, which really resonated with me because I could relate to his attachment for the city of Venice to the city of Mumbai. The way he described the cities were extremely precise and gripping. I learned that as a reader, it is important to understand the write before you understand the book in order to gauge where he is coming from and what inspired him to write this book.
I got to learn about the culture of writing and how it derived from the decline of the period of the kings, which is when writers around the world immersed themselves into creative writing and began creatively expressing themselves through it.
