This week in imaging class, I learned quite a lot about the more advanced features of the InDesign software. I learned how to edit the character and paraph styles in the “Type” bar and make my own customized font size along with color and orientation. I learned how to make the paragraph look neater by aligning the baseline grid, too. I also learned how to create links in InDesign, and how cruicial it is to link your work together in order for it to be downloadable.

Furthermore, I was taught fancy ways to type on different shapes and figures. This was quite interesting for me to learn, as it got me one step closer to understanding about how journalists, graphic designers, and digital artists can make accurate and aesthetically pleasing designs on the software.

We were also taught about how to to adjust text frames around a figure or a photo to showcase the flow of writing and make it look more framed and neat.

I then used the skills I learned this class and the class before, to create a magazine, and an artbook. This was my masterpage layout. I wanted it to be simple, yet vibrant and colorful with minimilistic patterns.

I used paragraph styles and character style settings to create default paragraphs and character styles. This I realised made it a lot easier for me to edit my work and give my magazine a singular format.
This is the master page for my second template, which I decided would be a Grpahic/Art book:
