In this week, as I finished my zine completely, I got to make some finishing touches, like adding the labels correctly again, and blending in the water colours in the background of each panel to hide the brushstrokes in order to make the texture of the colours look smooth. I also used a silver tinted pen to highlight some dialogues and punch lines. This, I feel, made it look more comic-like.
As I wrapped up making this zine, I got a deeper understanding of the purpose of making a zine. I looked around at what my peers were also making, most of the aspects were really personal, some where abstract, too and inspired by something they really believed in. Zines are honest in their intentions and make us express ourselves creatively and freely. I really enjoyed making it. It especially deepened my understanding on character design and improved my skills in water colouring, something which I was very confident in before, but I now can genuinely say I am.
